How do I calculate a peptide dosage after mixing?
Divide the vial amount (mg) by the water you added (mL) to get the concentration in mg/mL. Then divide your dose (converted to mg) by that concentration to get the volume to draw in mL. Multiply by 100 for units on a standard 100-unit insulin syringe. Our calculator does each step for you.
What does mg/mL mean on a mixed vial?
It is the concentration: how many milligrams of compound are dissolved in each millilitre of liquid. A 10 mg vial mixed with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water gives 5 mg/mL.
How many units on an insulin syringe equal my dose?
A 100-unit (1 mL) insulin syringe holds 1 mL, so 1 unit equals 0.01 mL. Divide your dose in mg by the vial's mg/mL concentration, then multiply by 100. Example: 10 mg in 3 mL gives 3.33 mg/mL; a 333 mcg (0.333 mg) dose is 0.1 mL, or 10 units.
How do I convert mcg to mg?
Divide micrograms by 1,000. 250 mcg equals 0.25 mg, 500 mcg equals 0.5 mg, and 1,000 mcg equals 1 mg.
How much bacteriostatic water should I add to a vial?
Published study protocols and research references describe a range of mixing volumes; the amount you add simply changes the concentration. More water means a larger, easier-to-measure draw per dose. Enter whatever volume you used into the calculator and it returns the correct draw.
How many doses are in one vial?
Divide the total vial amount in mg by your dose in mg. A 10 mg vial at a 0.25 mg dose contains 40 doses. The calculator shows doses per vial automatically.
